How does the free trial work?
Tell us about your community and we set everything up for you, usually within a week. Your 30 free days start the day you go live, not the day you sign up, so you get the whole month to use it for real.
No credit card is needed to start. At the end of the 30 days, pick a plan to keep going. If you don’t, your account turns read-only until you do. Nothing is deleted.
How hard is it to switch from another system or a management company?
We do the moving for you, at no cost. Send us what you have: an export from Buildium or another system, spreadsheets, or old reports. We bring in your homes, owners, opening balances and documents, and up to seven years of charge and payment history if you want it.
Saved autopay from your old system can’t be carried over, because the bank authorization belongs to that company. Homeowners sign up for autopay once in DuesIQ, and it takes about a minute.
Can dues be billed automatically?
Yes. Once your dues are set, DuesIQ creates each home’s bill on its own schedule, 10 days before it’s due by default (you can change that), and emails it to the owner. Dues carry into the next year without you rebuilding anything.
Lots that never pay dues, like a common area, can be left off. Exempting one home from just one charge isn’t built yet. If your community needs that, tell us during setup.
How does autopay work, and what happens when dues change?
A homeowner authorizes autopay one time, by bank account or card, and picks a day of the month between the 1st and the 28th. On that day it pays whatever is open on the home’s account.
So when the board raises or lowers dues, autopay simply pays the new amount. Nobody has to sign up again.
What does it cost, and who pays the payment fees?
One flat monthly price for the whole community, shown above. No setup fee, no onboarding fee and no required add-ons.
When residents pay online, the board decides who covers the processing fee: the resident or the community. Out of the box, a card payment is 3.5% plus $0.50 and a bank payment is 1% plus $1, never more than $8. There’s no other charge per payment.
If a bank payment bounces, the bank’s $4 fee comes out of the community’s next payout. The board can set its own returned-payment fee for the homeowner if it wants one.
Can we pay yearly, and is there a discount?
Yes. Paying yearly works out to about two months free. Essentials is $1,068 a year instead of $1,308, Professional is $2,148 instead of $2,628, and Professional + Accounting is $2,988 instead of $3,588.
Paying your DuesIQ bill from a bank account has no fee. Paying it by card adds 3.5% plus $0.50.
What accounting does it handle?
With Professional + Accounting you get full books: writing and printing checks, deposit slips, saved check images, vendor bills and reimbursements, budgets, several bank accounts and bank reconciliation.
Reports include the balance sheet, income statement, budget vs. actual, cash flow, general ledger, trial balance, and who owes what, plus a board packet you can make in one click.
Does it connect to our bank?
Payments from residents are deposited straight into your community’s bank account through Stripe.
You can also connect your bank through Plaid, read-only, so transactions and statements come in on their own each day. It’s optional. Without it, you add your bank accounts by hand and reconcile from your statements, and everything else works the same.
Are there limits on storage, messages or homes?
No limits on storage, documents, announcements or emails. The only limit is the number of homes: Essentials and Professional cover up to 99, and Professional + Accounting covers up to 350. Bigger than that? Email us.
What kind of support and training do you offer?
Setup is done for you on every plan, and we walk your board through it before you go live. After that, email us any time and a person who knows the product writes back, not a ticket queue.
Is it secure?
Board members have to use two-factor sign-in. Each community’s data is walled off from every other community. Card and bank details are handled by Stripe and never stored by us, and the bank connection through Plaid is read-only.
Every change is logged, so your board can see who did what and when.
Can we cancel any time?
Yes. Cancel in the app or by email. It takes effect at the end of the month or year you’ve already paid for, and there are no cancellation fees.
Your records are yours. You can export your reports and ledgers any time, and we keep your data for 60 days after you leave in case you need anything else.
Do you charge sales tax?
No. We don’t add sales tax to your DuesIQ bill.
